how we selectED our storytellers

This year more than 110 entrepreneurs were nominated to speak.  Of that group, 54  submitted applications.

A Speaker's Bureau comprised of entrepreneurs from  diverse backgrounds  and industries scored each applicant through a 'rubric' which awarded points for: Impact of Entrepreneur, Diversity, Leap Story,  Presentation Skills and  Exposure Need.  Scores tallied, the group selected our speakers and alternates.

How We  prepare  our storytellers

Through the   Storyteller's Academy powered by OneNineNinety, of course!

A hand-picked team of experts have worked to create a series of coaching sessions, exercises, workshops, feedback opportunities and rehearsals designed to ensure our storytellers deliver the best story of their life.

'The Leap' T-shirt

This is our first-ever event t-shirt, thanks to a collaboration with Columbus’ favorite printer, Traxler Printing.

As you reach into your dresser drawer, there it is, staring back at you; the Leap t-shirt you bagged at Startup Storytellers. It’s quickly becoming your favorite: soft, comfortable and so local it even smells like Columbus.

The hand-lettered logo, designed by Kay Karg, is a reminder of the event where you set your intention to strive harder. On the back, our timeless Startup Storytellers logo, designed by Ross W. Gibson.

Inspire your community; take the Leap, Columbus.

Welcome Back

Each time we craft  Startup Storytellers, we learn  what works and what doesn't.  The Columbus Museum of Art has been the best space for our event on all levels and we are excited to have another opportunity to utilize the space. (Just get your ticket early!)

For those of you that attended 'Path of the Legend' in 2016, know that THE LEAP  will be much different since we have the entire space. We are also partnering with stage and production vendors to add to the experience. OK, to blow it out of the water!
